World Children’s Day, or Universal Children’s Day, is annually celebrated on the 20th of November to promote international togetherness, raise awareness about children’s rights and support children’s welfare which emphasises the Convention on the Rights of the Child’.

World Children’s Day 2022’s theme is Equality and Inclusion for Every Child, which addresses the right to be entitled to education, regardless of their background. The theme further stresses that children should be given the opportunity to grow and be included in their communities.

Did you know that one quarter of young people in Australia don’t have access to education? (ABS, 2022)

Now, this is our time to act – we can help end the inequality and discrimination toward children and young people.

Here’s how you can share your Children’s ideas with others – Harmony Web Parent Portal

“This World Children’s Day, it’s more important than ever that the world listens to their ideas and demands.” (UNICEF, 2022)

World Children’s Day is an important day for children and young people to raise their voices and be listened to by the world. This is also a day for adults to reflect on those voices and aim to create a better future for our children.

For Harmony Web users, we can share their voice with Parents and Guardians through the Parent Portal.

The Parent Portal enables FDC’s, Early Learning Centre’s and OSHC’s to upload photos, videos and stories of their children’s development. This can be directly viewed by Parents and Guardians, helping them track the wonderful ideas that children have. This can help to create a sense of community and togetherness, a vital part of World Children’s Day.

“There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million.” – Walt Streightiff
